IT Productivity Pack now supports FBA, SQL-based, and LDAP compatible user account stores

Recent updates to the Web Parts that make up our IT Productivity Pack include expanded user account support.  All three components of the pack: Password Reset, Password Change, and User Account Setup have been updated to work in environments running any LDAP compatible backend account store.  This also includes support for environments running under Forms Based Authentication and SQL-based account stores.  In addition, all three components still provide Active Directory and NT Account based support as well.

The expanded environment support means you can now take take advantage of the following great capabilities together in the IT Productivity Pack, or as individual Web Part downloads:

  • Password Reset – Provide users with a self-service password reset capability through email or security question based challenge/response mechanisms.
  • Password Change – Avoid time consuming support calls and end user training expenses by streamlining the password change process through a simple interface.
  • User Account Setup – Allow users or administrators to simultaneously create SharePoint and domain user accounts, assign SharePoint and security group membership, and set user account profile information though a wizard-style Web Part based interface.

That's great. Is this available in the trial version we can download from the website? Thanks.

Yes.  All of the trial versions on our website contain the FBA support and can be downloaded individually or as part of the IT Productivity Pack.
