Hej from the Sweden office!

Greetings from Gothenburg, Sweden!  I am overseas this week visiting our office in Sweden (did you know we had one here?  Yes, we are quite international here at Bamboo!) and attending one of our partners, ICS Solutions' SharePoint Showcase in London that starts tomorrow.  Gothenburg is a beautiful city (sorry, no pics - my camera is MIA) and the people here are even nicer.  Bonus: everyone speaks English very well!  So, I have had no problems getting around, thanks to the great team here who have shown me a wonderful time.

Some things I've done or learned so far:

  • Watched an epsiode of Friends with Swedish subtitles
  • 1 Swedish krona=7 dollars.  7 Swedish krona=$1.  So, the shirt I bought today for 200 krona is really not that bad of a deal!
  • Our Swedish office shares a very similar habit as the office in Reston: lots of coffee (though I must say, our machine is better)
  • Hej is both 'hey' and 'bye'.  Tack=thank you.  So I know 3 Swedish words!  Who says I'm not good at languages?

The hardest thing has been getting used to the time zone (6 hours ahead of EST) which has made me realize how fortunuate it is we have an office here in Europe.  So, if you are from France, Germany, England, etc. and don't feel like waiting til 3 pm your time to get a reply, feel free to email our office here!  Hakan Karlsson and Elisabeth Wansgard are both helping with sales and can answer questions about our products, along with pricing and order processing.  Don't worry, I'll get them to post soon so you can properly meet them.  :)

I think you mean 7 Swedish Krona = 1$

Unless that shirt REALLY cost $1400

Ooops, yes I did write it backwards!  Good catch!  If I spent $1400 today then I may never return to the country.  :)
