Bamboo SharePoint Task Master? Hmmm.. what IS a Task Master? Is it like Task Manager for Windows?
Well… let me give you a sneak preview of what’s next for Bamboo!
You know you can find the following functionality in MS Project or MS Project Server:
• Project Plan Creation
• Project Progress Tracking
• Support of PERT, WBS, Gantt charts, etc.
• Timeline Recalculation
• Task Management and Conflict Analysis
• Resource Management and Leveling
• Import and Export Wizards to Excel
• Baseline Management
• Smart Tags
• Built-in online help
• Standard Project templates
• Interactive, step-by-step planning aid
• Project Linking
• Budgeting and Forecasting
• Report
For me.. it would be nice if there were just ONE tool with a short learning curve which allowed the following:
• Project Plan Creation
• Project Progress Tracking
• Support of WBS and Gantt charts
• Timeline Recalculation
• Task Management and Conflict Analysis
• Resource Management and Leveling
• Import and Export Wizards to Excel
• Project Linking
• Standard Project templates
• Report
Oh.. and wouldn’t it be nice to link task to task or project to project!?!
My last blog gave you a peek at our SharePoint Project Portfolio Dashboard; I know - that was EONS ago!! Now we’ve come up with something even MORE helpful for those who are need to track tasks, people and projects more efficiently in SharePoint - Bamboo SharePoint Task Master.
SharePoint Task Master allows users to create tasks, dependencies between tasks, view tasks in a Gantt view as well as identify milestones in SharePoint.
Who should use this tool? Project Managers - like me will appreciate this latest addition to our Project tools. This web part will help those who do not need to build a very complex schedule for projects, but need to track resources and budgets at a detailed level AND who want to link tasks.
Here’s the sneak preview (SShhhh!!!):
