Announcing List Print -- possibly our most aptly named product yet

Web browsers are great -- they do a lot of things really well. They display data, they accept user input; they can even motivate you with a repetitive barrage of inspirational quotes. One thing they don't do particularly well is print. It's not so much the fault of the browser as much as it is the contents of the browser, though. Web pages, in general, weren't designed to be printed -- they have buttons and dialogs, advertisements and links. Imagine if printing from Microsoft Word resulted in a page with a giant menu bar on it... it's kind of like that.

On the other hand, if you use SharePoint, chances are you store a fair amount of data in there you'd like to have in front of you, and since we can't all have iPhones, that occassionally means printing something out. And as I mentioned, printing copious amounts of information from a browser is, um -- "less than optimal".

But thankfully, as this is a product announcement and not a gripe session, we've got an answer for you. List Print, the newest product on our storefront, is the quick and easy solution to outputting list data to paper. Simply install the product, and marvel at the new "Print List" functionality added to the Actions menu of any list on your portal -- it's not even a Web Part, so you can print from your standard list window. List Print pops up a new, sparsely populated window with a few view controls, and the entire contents of your list. Then, you just select "Print" (or "Export to Excel", if you're so inclined), and you've got yourself a tidy little stack of list data, instead of stumbling into your meeting looking like you just printed out MapQuest directions from 1998.

Perhaps a demonstration is in order.

Simple, lightweight, and utterly, utterly functional. That's List Print. Check it out on the storefront, and send your questions to the List Print forum

Now get going on all those lists you've been meaning to print.
