You are finally able to extend a job offer to Sophie, a top notch project manager, who accepts the offer and is thrilled to join your team. Soon, Sophie's long overdue first day at your company dawns, you have a spring in your step, you are looking forward to your department finally getting caught up and maybe even able to having enough resource power to manage all critical tasks. The week begins on a high note, but the initial tasks of getting Sophie fully acquainted with everything: your department; the mission critical projects; and the company policies, all are beginning to be a drag on your time. You see a light at the end of the tunnel, but for now your plate is pretty full, and it's going to be a tough first week.
One of the tasks on your plate may be to either create alerts for Sophie, or add her name to alerts that have been created by the Bamboo Alert Plus Web Part. But here is the good news: If you create the alerts for your department using one the following two setups, this task will be taken right off your plate ... in fact, it won't have even been on your plate to begin with.
Option 1 - Using AD Distribution Group
1. Setup the Recipient by clicking on the Recipient tab in the Bamboo Alert Plus Setup
2. Select "send to a fixed set of users or Email addresses" in the Who should the alert emails be sent to
3. Type in the email address for your department's email distribution group in the Recipient List text box
Since Sophie should have been added to your department's Distribution Group by your administrator, she will automatically get any alerts already setup for your department.
Option 2 - Using Share Point Groups
1. Setup the Recipient by clicking on the Recipient tab in the Bamboo Alert Plus Setup
2. Select "send to members of a Share Point or Cross Site Group" for Who should the alert emails be sent to
3. Select the group that should get the alert in the Group Name and save
Sophie will automatically get any alerts already setup for this group.
