License problem after successful activation?

For current versions of Bamboo products, Bamboo License Manager v2.7 is best installed from the Setup.bat file. One installer for 32-bit systems and another installer for 64-bit are included in the zip file; Setup.bat determines the correct type for that server. In Add or Remove Programs, the 32-bit type is named “Bamboo License Manager v2.7” and the 64-bit version appends “(x64)” to the end. When activating a license, a file is created in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\BambooShared\License folder. The activation file (.lic) contains the name of the assembly (DLL) selected in Bamboo License Manager.

Licensing is per physical server. In a farm with more than one Web Front End server, 'Bamboo License Manager v2.7' must be installed on each WFE and the license activated with a unique key.

Possible causes of licensing problems after successful activation:

1.      The wrong type (32 or 64-bit) of Bamboo License Manager v2.7 was used. Add or Remove Programs appends "(64)" after its name for 64-bit; for 32-bit nothing is appended to the name. Please confirm the server’s bit type in System Properties of the server.

2.      Running "iisreset" on the server sometimes corrects the problem.

3.      Try to reactivate the license. If a message box immediately reports "Status: Active" after clicking the Activate button, an existing activation file exists but is in the wrong location or the product does not consider it valid. Please check same location as the assembly (DLL) that is selected in Bamboo License Manager (Bin folders or GAC) as well as the shared licensing location (C:\Program Files\Common Files\BambooShared\License). Delete any old or new activation files found on the server and then reactivate the license again. Older activation files will have a format of “[web_part_dll].licenses.xxxxx” where xxxxx is a set of letters/numbers.

4.      If an activation file cannot be found in the locations explained in #3 above, please search the server for “bamboo.*.lic” and if an activation file is found, copy it to the shared license location (C:\Program Files\Common Files\BambooShared\License). This can sometimes occur on Windows Server 2008.
