Running Visual Studio 2008 extensions for SharePoint 1.3 CTP on Vista
As you all know Microsoft recently released the CTP of VSeWSS 1.3 and I'm happy to announce that if you are running WSS or MOSS on your Vista x64 dev box you can now install and use VSeWSS 1.3 on Vista (or the Windows 7 Beta).
UPDATE: You should download the February 2009 CTP from here and you don't have to manually run msiexec. The elevation "problem" described below has been fixed in this release.
Check out Paul Andrews post here on how to download it, and make sure to give MS some feedback.
Make sure to start the msi from an elevated command prompt, the installer has a custom action that requires elevation and with UAC enabled this custom action will fail unless you do it. Here is some more info on this subject.
Here's the result; MOSS running on Windows 7 x64 with VSeWSS 1.3
