In response to your inquiries regarding the status of the next release of SharePoint Task Master, the Bamboo Product Management team would like to provide an update.
Requirements:
Following the December release of SharePoint Task Master, the primary goal with the v1.1 release was to improve the performance of Task Master. In response to customer feedback during the product planning and development cycle, we have additionally introduced a number of new features, such as:
- Allow users to set working hours.
- Allow users to scale the Gantt View based on an interval (From Date to To Date).
- Allow Constraints for Start (A Task must start on, A Task to start no earlier than, A Task to start no later than, etc.).
- Allow users to manually Save and Reset. (This will allow users to modify tasks in the UI and only commit changes when they are ready.)
- Allow users to select a custom SharePoint List in addition to SharePoint Tasks Lists and SharePoint Project Tasks Lists.
Issues:
The complexity of the development effort has been elevated due to the number of rules that needed to be implemented to provide the new constraints functionality. Our Engineering and QA teams have needed additional development and testing time in their efforts to achieve a production-ready build of the product.
Status:
We are currently anticipating a new release timeframe of mid-March. We will certainly keep you apprised of any changes to that schedule.
