SharePoint Analyzer v1.3 Now Available!

Update: Release 1.5 (12/22/09) now available with client-side installation

Two weeks ago, we promised that the next release of SharePoint Analyzer would be coming soon, and today we're happy to announce that SharePoint Analyzer v1.3 is now available for download as a free beta release from Bamboo Labs.  We teased some of the new features in the preview post, but we saved some features for the actual release announcement.  Read on for everything you need to know about the latest release of this popular tool.

General New Features & Improvements include:

• Implement trace logs for all system calls.
• Improve the log viewer performance.
• Addition of new nodes for deeper discovery of your farm settings.

New Features & Improvements for the Farm include:

• Incoming Email Settings: Display settings of the Farm's incoming email settings, status of current email settings, and configuration of the Microsoft SharePoint Directory Management Web Service.
• Single Sign-on (SSO) settings: Display SSO settings and enterprise application definitions.
• Quota Templates: List current quota templates on the server and their settings, such as limit site storage, when to send warning email when site storage reaches the quota, etc.
• Global Administration: Outgoing settings, configuration database, languages, and timezones.

New Features & Improvements for each Service include:

• Information Rights Management (IRM) Settings for SPWebService: IRM settings for current farm specify which IRM server is currently used.
• Display Process Identity for SPWindowService: Display account that current service is running on, and allow start/stop of service.
• Jobs Definitions and Running Jobs: Display jobs definitions and currently running jobs for the selected service.

New Features & Improvements for Web Applications include:

• List blocked file types in Web Applications.
• Global workflow settings: If user-defined workflows allowed, allow external users to access the workflow.

New Features & Improvements for Site Collections include:

• Apply quota information: Which quota settings are currently in use for this site collection?

New Features & Improvements for Web include:

• Alert Collection: list all alerts that users have created in this website.
• Event receivers.
• Property Bag.
• Users/Groups: List all users and groups in website.
• View list/field/feature definition XML schema, view list data: Display list/field/feature definition schema. With list, you can also choose to display the list data by default view or select view to view its data.
• Workflow Template: List all workflow templates currently in website.

These are some of the new features in Bamboo SharePoint Analyzer v1.3. For the next release, we're planning to move SharePoint Analyzer to a client environment, which will allow users to run SharePoint Analyzer on client machines like Windows XP or Windows Vista instead of exclusively on the Web Front-End server.
