KPIs, Mapping, Rollup - SharePoint Project Portfolio Dashboard 1.5 is Now Available

Several customers have requested that, “All the flags/indicators should be managed at the project level, with the information being rolled up to the portfolio - so a PM running a project would set the project health, and the issues and so on, the portfolio view shouldn't need that information to be reentered into a portfolio list to get a portfolio view.”

SharePoint Project Portfolio Dashboard Solution Accelerator v1.5 (PPD) provides you with just that functionality. PPD 1.5 is packaged as a bundle of 3 Web Parts: Bamboo KPI Column Web Part, Bamboo Project Dashboard Data Mapping Web Part and Project Portfolio Dashboard Web Part. You can activate the license for all three components with just one license key using the bundle licensing component. It is available for purchase individually or you can purchase as part of the Bamboo Project Management Suite or the Bamboo Ultimate Suite.

You can use the Bamboo KPI Column as your performance indicators for cost, schedule, issues, risks…etc. in your Project Summary list where you can select a certain type of calculation such as count, sum, average…etc. against your existing lists (cost, tasks, issues, risks…etc.).

Next, you can map the columns from your project summary list against the columns from the Project Dashboard list. If all your projects have similar list names  or list types , you can set up for auto discover, then you only need to set up one mapping. You just need to set up the KPI columns and the mapping once and PPD via the event handlers will automatically synchronize the information between the project summary list, and update the Dashboard list as well as your dashboards from there on. (Note: KPI column is available for you to use. However, you can still map your regular columns from your Project Summary list to the Project Portfolio Dashboard list.)
