By way of an introduction, would you please share with our readers a brief overview of the products and/or services offered by amexus?
Our core competence is developing solutions revolving around SharePoint for small to large corporations in all industries and sectors. As a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, our clients know they can count on excellent knowledge and close ties with Microsoft.
Where is amexus located?
Our 35-head team operates mainly from our headquarters in Ahaus (Germany) providing services throughout Europe, but we also have two satellite offices in Schwerte and Osnabrück.
Who founded the company, and when?
Stefan Nacke and Jörg Tomse - both engineers who had formed their own separate companies previously - partnered to start amexus in 1992. Since that time, we have become a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and are continuing to build on our experience as amexus approaches its 20th year.
Has SharePoint been amexus's primary focus since its inception?
Right from its launch, SharePoint has always been the main focus of our team.
What is amexus's mission?
amexus offers second-to-none tailored solutions to its wide range of customers. We successfully provide comprehensive services, also covering hardware, network, infrastructure, and consulting. Our team will make sure that their forward-thinking will produce future-oriented solutions. Innovation in tool-authoring is our latest success story - we just received the Microsoft ISV Software Solutions Competency.
How would you characterize your customer-base?
Since SharePoint is an excellent and affordable platform for any company size and industry or sector, our customer base is not limited.
Do you employ social media (blogs, wikis, Twitter, etc.) as a means of communicating with your customers?
We use all available social media features of SharePoint to deepen the contact with our customers, in addition to using social media to remain very active in the global SharePoint community.
What would you say is your single favorite feature/functionality of SharePoint?
SharePoint gives you a quasi-limitless platform for building solutions in every direction.
Conversely, what do you feel is SharePoint's biggest weakness/drawback?

What is your vision of collaborative computing five years from now?
It will be more integrated into our daily work and more interconnected with the wealth of information internally and externally. Mobile collaboration will become much more important in collaborative work.
What led to your decision to partner with Bamboo Solutions via the Partner Advantage Program?
Because Bamboo is the most versatile and largest supplier of SharePoint Web Parts worldwide, we decided to provide these Web Parts to the customers as the first German bamboo partner. As a result of our close partnership with Bamboo, we also supply German translations for all Web Parts. Finally, in 2008 we became the first Bamboo Partner of the Year.

As the Director of Global Partner Programs, Jill Kunkel has overall responsibility for partner and channel relationships, including driving incremental revenue and program management. Jill is a resourceful and team-oriented professional with over ten years of experience within the software industry, ranging from entrepreneurial start-ups to a major technology corporation. Her technology career began at Microsoft, where she contributed to the formation of the Customer and Partner Experience initiatives which are still in place today. Prior to joining Bamboo Solutions, Jill held positions with other Microsoft ISV Partners focused on SharePoint technology, where she was instrumental in building and launching their existing channel partner programs. Her ability to navigate within the Microsoft Partner ecosystem is reflected in her consistent record for creating and developing relationships to deliver value for all parties.
