UPDATE: Workflow Conductor is now available in our online store. Download your free 30-day trial copy today! Updated installation instructions are also available in our Online Product Documentation.
Installation of Workflow Conductor™ requires the following:
- Windows 2003 (32-bit) or 2008 (64bit) with Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) 3.0 or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007
- .NET Framework version 2.0
- A local administrator account for the Web server, with database permissions
- SQL Server 2005 or higher
To install Workflow Conductor, download the self-extracting installation file (SA08.R1.SL.EXE) from Bamboo Labs, and save it to the desired SharePoint server(s), and double-click the file to open the installer screen.

There are several components you'll need to install for Conductor to work correctly. First, select "Workflow Conductor" from the list on the left-hand side, and click "Install". You will have the option to select the specific Web Applications where you want these features to be installed.

When you finish selecting the Web Apps, this will launch a bundled installer that will install the Workflow Conductor Studio, Web Parts, and the Widgets (aka "activities") for Conductor.
When you are done installing the core components, you will need to install the settings component. Select "Bamboo Conductor Admin Management" from the list, and click "Install". This installs the administrative settings tab for Conductor. The only option you should see from the list of Web Apps should be Central Administration, as that is where this component lives.

Next, select the "Bamboo MashPoint REST Extensions 1.0 Setup", and install. Select the desired Web Applications, as you did for the previous items. This component enables some of the external data connectivity features in Conductor.

After the REST extensions are installed, select and install the "Workflow Conductor Configuration Database" (the installer will automatically display the 32-bit or 64-bit version based on the server).
The final components to install are the Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions (version 1.0), and a web.config update to enable those extensions. These are the standard extensions from Microsoft, but we have included a copy for your convenience if you do not already have them installed. The web.config update modifies the web.config file to enable the Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions 1.0. Note: If you have previously modified your web.config file to enable these extensions, you SHOULD NOT run this piece, as it may change your previous modifications.

Once you have installed all of the necessary components, you'll need to run an IIS reset, after which you should be ready to start using Conductor.
