Requirements Management Application to be first of many hosted products from Bamboo

Bamboo® Solutions, the leading provider of technologies that enhance Microsoft® SharePoint® has announced the creation of a new division focused entirely on the delivery of hosted SharePoint applications.  Expanding upon Bamboo’s leadership as a premier ISV for Microsoft SharePoint, the Bamboo Online Applications Group will lead Bamboo’s efforts to introduce predefined Software as a Service (SaaS) business applications that leverage the SharePoint platform. The organization will mark its formation with Bamboo’s first hosted SharePoint application, Bamboo Requirements Manager (BambooRM™).

Requirements Management is ideally suited as Bamboo’s first Software as a Service (SaaS) offering.  It is a highly standardized business application that enables companies to quickly allow geographically dispersed teams to collaborate and communicate on-demand, with no delay to schedules or IT involvement.  Customers can request a trial, validate, get provisioned with a new account in the Bamboo data center, login to Bamboo Requirements Manager and find sample project data in minutes.

The newly formed division plans to aggressively broaden the product line during 2010 by launching several additional applications geared to small and medium-sized businesses and departmental project teams, including Bamboo’s flagship Project Management application, PM Central™. By leveraging Bamboo’s extensive library of SharePoint-based Web Parts and accelerators to create complete SharePoint-based business applications, the new division continues Bamboo’s strategy of extending SharePoint to deliver business value, whether for use on-premises, with hosted service providers, or as a SaaS solution.

“Microsoft's commitment to host SharePoint in the cloud, combined with the fact that there are already over 70 million users worldwide, supports Bamboo’s decision to enter into this market,” says Marc O’Brien, newly appointed General Manager of Bamboo’s Online Applications Group.  “I have a strong conviction that for many customer situations, SaaS provides a superior time to value for users.  There is no IT to schedule, nor installation, configuration, or updates to cycle through,” said O’Brien.  “With hosted applications, instant access is available anytime/anywhere, and on a monthly subscription model.”

BambooRM™ will be available in late January 2010.
