New Faces of Bamboo: Introducing Nicole Flanagan

Editor's note:  As readers of our 2009 Year in Review series will have likely gathered, Bamboo is currently undergoing rapid growth.  Some of our new hires have been with us for a couple of months now, but with new faces appearing in the office seemingly daily in recent weeks, we thought it would be a good idea to introduce the new folks to Bamboo Nation.  You should expect to see many of these new faces beginning to appear regularly here in the Team Blog over the course of the year.

Nicole FlanaganWhat is your role at Bamboo, and what are your goals for the year?

I am a Support Engineer with Bamboo. As a support engineer we try to take the time to understand our customer's goals and help them to achieve those goals in the most efficient way possible. My objective for the year is to assist our customers in achieving those goals with the best customer service experience possible.

What's your professional background?

I have a wide variety of SharePoint experience which includes SharePoint Administration for client and hosted solutions. My system maintenance experience includes working with: master pages, theme application and permission management, and I have also provided timely end user support of Web systems, including assisting users with features and functionality available within those Web systems.

What prompted you to join the Bamboo team?

There are many reasons, but most of all I was enticed by the atmosphere and diversity.

What are some of your first impressions of working at Bamboo?

My first impression was that I hope to be as knowledgeable as the crew here at Bamboo and WOW...look at that kitchen...I'm going to gain 50 lbs.!

With over 60 products to learn, do you feel overwhelmed?  What's your strategy for getting up to speed?

There are many products to learn, but since we work with these products and troubleshoot them daily, it makes it easier to get up to speed.

Other than your deep and abiding love of Web Parts, what interests or hobbies do you enjoy outside of work?

I love to cook, go hiking, take photographs, and do the opposite of what my husband says... just kidding Big Smile, but I do love to spend most of time with my husband and daughter.  I have a new secret obsession: reading the Pioneer Woman's blog, and now the word is out!
