There are several different methods to remove MashPoint from your system. This document will give you a step by step procedure on how to remove MashPoint. In general, the following steps are required in the suggested sequences:
- Remove MashPoint using either the install program or from the Central Admin solution management.
- Remove MashPoint runtime services.
- Remove MashPoint Single Sign-On (SSO) Services.
- Remove any optional Web Parts that you use to test with MashPoint.
- Remove Bamboo assemblies from your GAC.
Note: If you are upgrading from one Beta version to another, or from a Beta version to the general release of MashPoint, you should follow the recommended upgrade procedure as specified in the release note.
How to tell which MashPoint and related options are installed on your server
To review which MashPoint version and its related options are installed on your server, go to Central Admin site, and select the Operations tab, and then select Solution Management. The solutions related to MashPoint will be listed with the "bamboo.mashpoint." prefixes.

Option 1 - Use the MashPoint Installation to remove.
- If you still have the original MashPoint download folder. Navigate to the folder content.

- Click and run the Setup.bat file.

- Select the MashPoint component and click on Install.

- The installation program will run and it will detect that MashPoint is already installed on your system. Select Next to continue.

- Select Remove option. Select Next to continue. The installation program will now retract all deployed solutions from your SharePoint sites and will remove the entire program from your system.

- Select Next to complete the un-installation.
Option 1 - Use the Central Admin to remove MashPoint.
- Go to the Central Admin site, click on Operations>Solutions Management.

- Click on bamboo.mashpoint.wsp.

- Click on Retract Solution.

- The solution will be retracted. You might have to wait for a few minutes until the job is completed.

- Note that if you installed and deployed MashPoint into a specific Web application, you will have to select the specific application to retract. Select "All content Web Application" will not work, even if the message indicates that the solution in "retracting". If you get into this situation, just cancel the retraction and try it again.

- Once the solution is retracted, you can now select Remove Solutions.

The MashPoint runtime component is a component that is installed along with the MashPoint platform installation or with other Bamboo Web parts, You should be able to select that component from any installation program, click install and follow the procedure in the last two sections to remove it.0
How to uninstall Bamboo Single Sign-On (SSO) Services
The Bamboo Single Sign-On service should be removed via the Add/Remove option under the Start>Control Panel. If you are running Vista or Windows Server 2008, use the Control Panel's Uninstall option as shown here:

To un-install Bamboo Web Parts, please follow the direction supplied with each individual Web Part. For the most part, you can use the same procedure as described in this document to remove a Web Part. For example, you can run the setup.bat in the folder where the Web Part is downloaded:

Select the Web Part component and then click on Install.
The installation program will detect that the Web Part is already installed in the system.
You can now select the Remove option. After doing so, select Next, and the Web Part will be retracted and removed from all Web front end servers.
In some instances, such as when you uninstall SharePoint without removing Bamboo MashPoint, there are DLLs that are installed in the Global Assembly Cache (GAC) that cannot be removed with the installation using the procedure in this guide.

In this situation you can use the gacutil command to remove a specific assembly from the GAC (for example, gacutil -uf bamboo.Bda).
IMPORTANT: Make sure you only remove the Bamboo DLLs, and only those that are used by MashPoint, and backup your system. A careless mistake will disable your server and prevent it from working properly.
