I've been working my way through the "stock" Web Part properties over the last couple of days, and since we've covered Appearance and Layout already, it's now time to begin tackling the Advanced properties. Since the Advanced properties display takes up the entire properties task pane and then some (even with my screen resolution maxed out), I can't show them all to you in a single image. And since they do break down rather neatly into two sections (with the second section fitting perfectly into a screen shot), I'm going to treat the two sections as having been predestined to be parts one and two of this two-part look at Web Part Advanced properties.

What was interesting about this article was the focus on JSR 170 as a way for integrating SharePoint into legacy.

A "Gotcha" with Naming Uploaded Files in SharePoint (SharePoint Blank)
In the course of uploading a couple of newly requested-and-created "house ad" image files to our team portal (by the way, that's one of them pictured at right, and if you'll permit me a congratulatory aside, kudos to our designer, Tuong, for the rapid turnaround and the sharp artwork!), I was struck by something that I hadn't ever caught before. What passes for the messaging surrounding the file upload area in SharePoint is incredibly misleading.
