SharePoint Blank

Bamboo Solutions is a leading provider of Web Parts and Solution Accelerators for Microsoft SharePoint. In SharePoint Blank, a new employee (and a blank slate with regards to SharePoint) candidly blogs his day-to-day SharePoint learning, sharing his trials and triumphs.

Mindsharp Power End User Training Continues!

The D.C. offering of the Mindsharp Power End User class may have ended two weeks previous, but that doesn't mean that the class was over for lead instructor, Janis Hall.  You see, there were a number of "parking lot" items that had come up during the course of the three-day training session.  These were items that Hall had taken note of during the class, and promised to research further and provide her findings to all attendees via email.

Several hours after my own workday had ended yesterday, that email arrived in my in-box last night, just as I'm sure that it arrived in the in-boxes of my fellow Power End User course attendees.  The Word doc attached to Hall's mail is playfully titled "Notes, Wonderments and other items," and more than makes good on Hall's promise.  The eight-page doc includes dozens of detailed answers to questions that had come up in class, along with helpful links to additional resources (whitepapers; surveys; studies; recommended third-party providers including, ahem, Bamboo at the top of the list; and more), all of which are clearly presented in a format which serves as an addendum to the training manual which was provided at the training.

In lieu of responding to the email, I wanted to use this space to again publicly thank Mindsharp and lead instructor Janis Hall for going above-and-beyond in their commitment to SharePoint training.

About John Anderson

John Anderson is new to both Bamboo Solutions and to SharePoint, but he isn't new to online community.  Having recently departed AOL, where he was a Programming Manager for that company's social media team, John is thrilled to have joined the Bamboo family as Manager of Content & Syndication.  As a member of the Online Operations team, John takes great pride in helping shape the creation and direction of Bamboo Nation, our nascent SharePoint community.  Within Bamboo Nation, John writes the blog SharePoint Blank, in which he (always candidly, sometimes humorously, and even occasionally informatively) documents his daily progress in learning SharePoint.  John is also profoundly uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person and is going to stop now.
