i'm trying out the bamboo advanced search webpart. i have a custom list, with 10 fields. I have 2 views. The 'All Items' view, which contains all the fields, and a Summary view which has 4 fields.

so if i select the all items view, and hit find it all works properly. i get a page of results, and then i can use the paging to view the next page in all items results set. However if I pick the Summary view (remember this has less columns than the all items view), then I get something like this:

What it seems to be doing is fetching the data for the columns in the Summary View, but shows the data in the all items columns.  So columns that are present in the All Items view, but are not in the Summary View are shown as "System.Data.DataRowView".  columns that are common to both, are shown properly.

Am I doing something wrong? or is my idea of using different views, not what the webpart feature was intended for??? I'm sure there are other people who are using this webpart successfully. This seems like the basic functionality is not working right??!!

TIA

Hello TIA,

This is the first I have seen of this.  Can you provide us with the Web part version you are working with?  Locate the File Version found  in the About Web Part section of the Web Part tool pane.

Thank you,

The selected view should impact just the search results, not your search. You screen shot looks like you selected Summary View to see the results, but I see more than 4 columns. Can you show us a screen shot of what your Wummary View looks like - separate from the Advanced Search Web Part?

Thanks!
