Does the file and folder permissions defined in the network shared folders get imported in the Sharepoint Document Libraries as well?

NT File Shares handle permissions very differently than SharePoint Document Libraries and when files are imported via List Bulk Import, these permissions are not retained. They would need to be reset once in SharePoint.

Is there any tool which we can make use of to import files and permissions from NT File Shares to Sharepoint Document Libraries? Reason being, there are numerous files (more than 1 terabytes) of data in NT File Shares that we are looking into migrating into Sharepoint Document Libraries. As such, we are searching whether there are any tools available that can expediate the migration process.
Any recommendations on the migration process and methods which user can used to verify the permissions and objects after the migration has been completed?
