Hi,

I am using the calendar web part on a list with several available lists. When i click on a list item in the calendar the dispform.aspx page opens up correctly but when I close that page it always returns me to the default view. Is there any way to set it to return to the active view at the time the user clicked the item?

Thanks for any help....

Hi smorin,

The links displayed on the Calendar should append a Source= section (i.e., ...DispForm.aspx?ID=1&Source=http...) to the URL. When you click on an item from the calendar, can you check to see if you see that in your URL?

If not, can you double-check the version of the List Rollup Web Part that you used to create your list rollup data view?

Thanks!

Thanks for the help Julie,

I realized I misspoke in my earlier post. The calendar is on one list with multiple views (not sure if this matters or not). I do have a "&Source=http ..." section in the URL on item click but when closing the dispform it always returns to the default view. I've looked at the URL but I can't identify any part that reference the active viewto return to in the Source section. But maybe the issue is that I'm not using a List Rollup Web Part. The calender is just linke to a regular list. Would this make a difference?

Thanks again,

Scott.

Hi Smorin,

I think I understand - the default view is probably the current month. Your user has moved to see next month and clicked a displayed item to edit it. When he clicks OK from that form (whether it's edit or display), the display of the calendar is back to the current month rather than next month.  You would rather it display the month he was on when he clicked the item. The same happens if the end user changes the filter. When they come back to the calendar, the default filter is displayed.

Unfortunately, I believe this is the current behavior of the product. I have submitted an enhancement request to our product team to see if it can be added to a new release soon.

Sorry, I have one clarification. It's the current filter that is not "remembered". If you don't use the filters, you will return to the last "view" after editing an event. I think your particular issue is related to the current filter? Can you confirm?

Thanks!

Hi Julie,

Yes I think that's correct.  Sounds like we'll have to wait. Just to make sure,  here is our bamboo calendar plus configuration. When I open the calendar the filter is "JH Controller" by default. If I switch to the Runtime Filltering View "Controller Services" and click on an item it always returns to "JH Controller" filtering view (which has a distinct set of items) . So I think this is the behavior you were referring to and it does not remember the Runtime Filtering View.

Thanks again for all your help.........Scott.

Hi Scott,

Yes, that's what I was referring to. I reported it as a bug. Since we don't have the Runtime filtering when looking at the list rollup, I didn't see it then. The problem is with the runtime filtering. Hopefully, we can have a patch available soon.

Thanks!
