I tried tree view web part for a wiki site, but I could not get the result that I wanted (Hierarchy structure). I try to make Manual using Wiki sites and it has a structure like 1. Title, 1.1 child 1.1.1 child..2. Title 2.1 Child..
To make it I added tree view web part to wiki sites and connected it to the wiki library. I make a wiki page and made a link inside of the page. when I am done making one page, I clicked the link to make another page. It automatically creates a name parentname\child filename..but when I try to save it, it gives me an error message that the file name can not include !@#\...characters...
I would like to know how to group in wiki sites to make it view like tree view.
We are interested in buying if it supports this...
Thanks
Hi Julie,
Unfortunately, this is the current behavior of the tree view if it's connected to a wiki library. The tree view will always show the wiki pages at the same level of the tree. Although you can create a grouped view of a wiki, you can't create a grouped view that shows hierarchical relationships. If you choose to point the tree view to a wiki, the option to organize the results by Folder or Group is disabled.
When you edit a wiki and add a link to a new page and save the edit, you can click the new link and add the new content but when you try to save the new page you get the error you mention. You need to modify the page name and then choose to save the page again.
I've submitted an enhancement request to our Product Team for this feature.
