I have Vista Home Premium (Dell Studio 15). Followed instructions and got no errors but I see nothing when I go to Central Admin page - Here is all I see in source:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"><HTML><HEAD><META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"></HEAD><BODY></BODY></HTML>
Ok I just noticed the instruction I missed :
"UPDATE: If you run Vista Home Premium you have to enable Basic Authentication in IIS, if you don't you will only see a blank page."
So my Central Services now works fine on my port 9999, but I created a new application on my 80 and I still get the blank page. Basic Authentication is seill enabled...
Never mind - working great now....
This may finally get my development group to switch to Vista
Glad to hear that you figured it out.

can you share the solution how to fix it?? please
If you look at the very bottom of the instructions they show how to do this:
Open up IIS management console and Enable Basic Authentication. You have to do this for ALL Web Applications you are creating.
You need to enable for your Central Admin site & Port 80 site
