When creating a list item containing a Custom Identifier column with Client Side Object Model the custom ID is not created. The list item is created but the Custom Identifier column is blank. Creating the item the normal way in NewForm.aspx works as expected.

Code looks something like this:

var info = new SP.ListItemCreationInformation();
var listItem = list.addItem(info);
ctx.executeQueryAsync(Function.createDelegate(this, function () { GridItemSaved(listItem); }), Function.createDelegate(this, this.ItemAddedFailed));

We're running SharePoint 2010 Foundation. I cannot find the exact version of the Custom Identifier but it is was deployed in november 2011.

Regards, Magnus

I ran into the same problem once more. Did a Google search and found my own issue unanswered.

Do you have a solution for this?
