Save Conflict error - can't update the tasks

Whenever I try to update a task item I receive this error:

Save Conflict

         Your changes conflict with those made concurrently by another user. If you want your changes to be applied, click Back in your Web browser, refresh the page, and resubmit your changes.

I can't update any of the fields, even if I don't change anything and just hit OK, I stiil get this error.

This was actually being caused by a workflow I was using for a calculated column.  I altered the workflow and it now seems to be working OK.

I have the same issue and know that it is in the workflow.  How did you alter the workflow to get it to stop quicker.  I have added Stop Workflow actions but that does not help.  Thanks!
