Dear All,

someone wrote that have installed MOSS 2007 on Vista using Bamboo SetupLauncher.

Ok, I trust in them, but which MOSS executable on MOSS 2007 Installation Disk have they selected ?

Someone said "you have to rename the file OfficeServerXXX.exe to SharePoint.exe and then run it" but I ask myself wich OfficeServerXXX.exe. I looked for it in MOSS Ent 2007 Installation Disk and I didn't found it.

Can anyone give me any info ? Thanks,

Corto

Digvijay Singh,

You can't install on XP 32bit but you can install on XP 64bit since it's got IIS6.

I have also managed to install on Windows Vista Home Premium, but I am looking at a blank page. I followed all the instructions, and checked on IIS6 basic authentication, and re-verifie that it was checked. I used the screen shots, provided on this blog. what I am doing wrong?

Digvijay Singh,

Try to run the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard again.

I was able to use the tool and install MOSS 2007 but now all I have is one Site at port 80.  The Central Administration doesn't work.   The IIS application pool crashes.

Faulting application w3wp.exe, version 7.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x47919413, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x4791a7a6, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x000b015d, process id 0x19a4, application start time 0x01c9b88286c8e319.

A process serving application pool 'SharePoint Central Administration v3' suffered a fatal communication error with the Windows Process Activation Service. The process id was '5464'. The data field contains the error number.

I've tried so many things with nothing working so far.

trendoid,

Do you have any special ISAPI extensions installed (like tomcat jakarta)?

The error indicates heap corruption, you can read this thread http://forums.iis.net/t/1150912.aspx

Nothing like that.  Brand new laptop with Vista Business.  I'm going to try uninstalling some IIS features next.  Maybe something there is causing this.

trendoid,

Take a look at this article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc735151.aspx

IIS Application Pool Availability

Updated: April 6, 2009

Web sites and Web applications depend on the availability of Internet Information Services (IIS) application pools. IIS application pools in turn depend on the Windows Process Activation Service (WAS). If WAS is not running or errors occur during the startup or shutdown of an application pool, Web sites and Web applications may not be available.
