During installation, I received an error stating that 'User *.' does not have authority to the SQL Database. I'm signed on as the administrator.

Is there something else I need to do?

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your interest in our Video Library. Regarding your issue, I don't think the Video Library needs authority to connect to SQL Database. Maybe it is a security issue on your environment.

Is the SQL database on the same box as SharePoint? If not, the local administrator on the web front end may not have admin rights on the SQL box.

Could you send us the screenshot of the installation error windows?

Thanks,

I have a WSS 3.0 site hosted by FPWEB.net, an awesome company by the way, that is having an issue configuring the installation. Specifically, I can't activate the install from the site collection features page. Bamboo solutions already offer some of your services so I'm surprised they are having a problem with this. Can you offer any insight into specific settings for configuration that may need to be looked at that might prevent me from activating in the site collection features?

Hi,

Have installed the lastest version as I today from your website and having issue relating to playing videos and thumbnail image.

1. I am able to upload files to site. When I load an mp4 file and play the file, only here the voice and no video plays but the user controls are avaliable.  If I upload an WMV file, no sound or video plays.  The screen in black with no user controls. I have followed previous article 'Video didnt play' and have the test website in that post working. So I know IE browser is OK.   Dont know what next to check. Any ideas?

2. The video thumbnail is not working and assuming if get issue 1 sorted, this will work. But its worth a mentioned.

Hope you can assist?

I too have the same issue. WMV file uploads ok, but on playback has a black screen with no controls...do the WMV's have to be VC1 four cc?

I also have the same problems with WMV files...they upload fine, the thumbnail shows up, but I get nothing but a black screen when I try to play them.  I am having no problems playing MPEG files.

I've added the MIME types to IIS, and I'm able to see the video player controls, however, when I try to play the video, it's just a black screen.
